Open Question: My boyfriend and I are both disabled and on SSDI (and I'm on SSI). Do we have to hide anything over $2000?

I'm trying to keep up for next year's trip to Orlando for the National Federation of the Blind's national convention and for a stay at Disney. I'm not using the SSDI or SSI for the trip, so please don't rant about tax dollars going to people's vacations. My ex-husband sends me $300 a month as spousal support (we are not divorced yet), and I keep $200 of that each month when I can. My boyfriend is doing the same from his SSDI (which he earned from his many years of working). The trip is going to cost about $3,000 plus food, transportation, and souvenirs. Here's the thing. I need to keep every the money in my savings account until the package is booked in January or February. By January, I expect to have $2,000 minimum between myself and my boyfriend (who is putting his in my savings account, as he does not have one of his possess). If we have more than $2,000 in savings, do I need to put the relax in a safe or something so Social Security doesn't use it as a reason to lower my SSDI and SSI (I currently only receive $690 combined). I am living very frugally in order to keep for this trip, so I think it is well deserved, especially for the national convention of the NFB. If the >$2000 is going to be there only for a short time, do I still have to hide it in order for Social Security to not use it against me, or do they only check your bank account when you provide the information at re-cert time? Advice, please? And please don't say that I shouldn't go on this trip or that if I can keep up the $3,000 for this trip that I can afford for my SSDI and SSI to go down. I am living extremely miimally in order to keep for this trip, and we've been planning it since May and it's going to take every the time until April when the payments are due, almost a year, just to keep up the money for this. We will really need that vacation, and the convention is an important thing to go to. We're foregoing a lot of things to keep for this, including furniture for the apartment, favourite foods, lesser trips, and even traveling around our area keep by bus, which we can receive a $15 pass for a month, which we need for school anyway, so we might as well use it to receive around.

Hey every, I'm 18 & living at "home". Really need to move out. Looked into it before I was 18 but the money I'd have received was ridiculous & I couldn't receive straight answers. Now me & a girlfriend plan to rent together, and she was telling me every these benefits she was on & what i could receive. Austudy, rent assist, Help?! I am currently only earning less than 200 p/w, but have a better job in mind for when we move closer to the city (sydney). Casual worker. Two full-time TAFE courses, one of which is the HSC. I used to receive 300 so we were looking to receive a 400 p/w rent place, around about that anyway. I know there are various clip-offs for income. and personal savings? which i have a decent amount of, so they judge liquid assets too? also, health care concessions? transport concessions? anything possible i would be able to receive.

Has to be accredited and my credits need to be able to be accepted to california state or University or any community college as transfer units if I needed. Also reputable among employers and retention and glad students who don't trash the school afterward for taking for a lot of money. I know a degree is going to cost some money and a good one is worth it, especially saving on other things like rent and not having to pay other costs because I can stay home and earn my degree. Also bonus question, more of an opinion. What degree's now will be most useful in the future and best chance of being employed. Anything but an engineer for me...lol. Open Question: Can anyone explain the sense in this UK Government "policy"?

Lets say you're a young person, you have a child to support and fair enough - you do your best to support that child by working difficult as best you can and not scrounging benefits. The Government are glad to pay you tax credits to top up your crappy £6 an hour earnings as you don't have any specialist skills which allows you to demand a higher income. You are fed up of working your backside off for peanuts. You don't want to be dependent on tax credits. You want to retrain for a skilled trade, which can hopefully earn you a better living, where you will not be dependent on the Government. However, most training courses cost money (I'm not talking about the stupid "free computer classes" and suchlike at your local college, but a course which would enable you to become a qualified plumber, electrician, HGV driver or whatever - ie this either means you leaving work and studying full time - which is unaffordable if you still want to keep a roof over your head - or studying part time and paying course fees to a private college or training provider.) You cannot lift the £3K or whatever the course costs. And this is where the Government lose interest. No they won't help. They may suggest you contact your local, friendly "High road Bank" for a stupid "Career Development Loan" (which you will be refused if your credit rating is not spotless and that applies to a lot of young, low waged people), but thats about every they will do. In the meanwhile they will carry on doling out your tax creds to top up your shitty income. Now can anyone look the logic in this? Instead of paying out things like tax credits why not invest the money in helping those who want to upskill to do so? Thus allowing them to earn a better wage and taking them away from any dependency on the Government? If the Government want to move people away from benefit-dependency they have to invest. They have to realise that minimum wage jobs don't provide a liveable income, and the only way to receive people into jobs in which they can support themselves without government help is through SKILLED training (not just free computer classes where they can learn to operate a PC and receive a job in a callcentre for £13K). This is the only way things will change. Do you think they even understand this, or does keeping a big portion of the young unemployed/low waged in this country in their place benefit the Government somehow? Some messed up and illogical arguments here: IF it is the person's fault for "throwing away" their chance to train after school or whatever (typical benevolent Tory response BTW) then why is the government handing out tax credits, housing benefit etc to support them? Do you not look the dichotomy between paying someone to be needy and paying someone to improve their situation in life? Tax credits merely subsidise poverty and unskilled jobs.

Looks like there's no money left, and the govts had to welch on that agreement. Do we feel a tad cheated? I know I do. Where are the legal implications of the govt on backing out of this 'deal'? Open Question: Help! I think I'm in love with a celebrity...?

Ok I know it's impossible to be in adore with somebody you don't know so I really have no idea what this is but it's odd... I've never liked a celeb before, intact I'm pretty sure I was annoyed with almost every celebrities. Open Question: Jobs for a 12 year old?

OK so I want to keep up my money to adopt a puppy from the local animal shelter. The dog would only cost about $100 to adopt, that includes spaying/neutering and vaccines. every that is left to buy is food, a collar, tags, bedding, and a couple toys (we already have a boxer, 7 years old, so we have crates and food dishes, etc). Open Question: why is my mother like this?

ok so first of every, about 3 weeks ago i earned somwe money from my grandma by doing some chores at her home (100 $$.) And thinking it would be the money i'd keep and just add them onto if i need anything extra for school. And so it doesnt happen very often that i receive money but i went to the mall with my friends. My mom said i cant buy anything or she'll take that money away. I still brought 10 $ with me just for emergency...(she said i can only buy food, no clothes or anything like that.) Open Question: Im going back to school shopping in Duluth,,.?

And considering that I live in Canada, about 3 hours from the border, and we only go about 4 times a year, its sorta a big deal. But here is my problem: im 13, and since my parents are separated, and my dad takes me to another town a couple hours away for every 2 weeks im with him, ( im 2 weeks with mum, then 2 weeks with dad, so on.), I haven't been able to really receive a job up until this year. every I can have is a paper route, that I am quitting. So with the school year coming back, I really don't want to ask my parents for a lot of money. I mean, if I go with them I only want to ask for essentials such as new jeans and a jacket. But for the extras such as a new perfume, a blouse (which I have tons of lol x3 I'm sort of a shopaholic), and that new bracelet I've been eyeing, I really don't want to ask my parents because they've paid for every my past new perfumes, blouses, and bracelets. I want to earn the money, so I'll feel proud to buy this stuff instead of feeling guilty. But, there's no one within distance of me who's kids are of babysitting age, they're every 10. . 11, or 9. The youngest in my neighborhood, or close were actually only born not too long ago. So babysitting is out of the question. Then, no one really hires kids. I thought of selling my old stuff, but no one buys from garage sales in my neighborhood anymore! Agh they make it so difficult! Please don't say a lemonade stand, let's be truthful, no one is willing to pay a buck for a 13 year old's lemonade. . maybe a 5 year old, but not a teen. genius. it's like budgeting money. you start off with x amount of points ( dollars ). you're rewarded for your investments ( answering questions/earning points ). penalized for asking questions/spending more than you earn ( costing points ). if you can manage your money wisely, you'll be rewarded with a level upgrade ( new home in a better community? level 1 is a studio apt. in a lousy part of town ). the suckers never level up because they're too busy asking questions and not answering enough ( look spending more than you earn ). Hello I came from India to pursue my education (not on a student visa but on a immigrant visa). My parents went back to India and I am alone here since last 7 months. I have gone through extreme hardship,poverty as I had no job for months. THAT IS FINE.I do not blame any1 for that. The thing that disappoints me the most is that I worked very difficult on a subject in my college and impressed my Prof so much that on 29 april she told me that she will make me her TA my joy knew no bounds thinking I will finally earn some money and receive a good job on campus. The next day she told me that she is going out of town and will return to campus in June and will call me thereafter. I waited for 20 days in June and then I gave her a reminder, she said she will call me next week as she is busy, Then she finally called me on the 6th of july and and told that my job starts officially from that day itself and now on it will be weekly 20 hour basis at the rate of 15 dollars per hour. She gave me a assignment and told me to complete it in 3 days and submit it 2 her and she will pay me for that assignment, I did it for her in 2 days and submitted to her, she said thanks and said she will receive back to me in 1 week Today it is 25 days...and still no trace of her..I am beginning to loose every wish now, feeling like a loser , thankfully I worked in a grocery store every this while and collected some money ( that is the 3 months which she fooled with me) , what should I do now???? It is not the money anymore, I feel bad about the fact that she is making me LONG like this, if she wants me to do free job for her, I will do it for free, but she should tell me straight up, If she doesn't want me, she should atleast tell me that she does not need my services, making me wait like this since 3 months is frustrating

Life in a nutshell: adore: My fiance'/boyfriend of three and a half years left me without warning a month ago. We're now on amicable speaking terms and I know I still adore him. He's nonchalant about the break-up and he's moving to a new city with a new job, so he's glad. My friends and family are positively baffled at his behavior. Work: I work at an exotic bakery earning less than minimum wage because its expected that I receive tips, but despite how professional and nice I am, people don't tip. The other three days of my 6 day work week I'm doing a volunteer internship at a non-profit that I got through a pal, to bolster my stupid resume'. I can't find a single architecture job because they every claim to be suffering from the economy, but still hire boys with half my proven talents. Resume': Sucks because the economy down-turned right when I was looking for my first experience in an architecture firm. I've been turned down for several jobs now because of lack of experience. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Architecture. Residence: I'm living with my parents. It destroys any chance at new romance, and of course I have to deal with my dad's daily ranting because he's been unemployed over a year and he's bitter. Finances: Terrible. I have less than 2K to my name and school loans arrive due in the fall, which means I'm going to have to tug money out of thin air. My car has been falling to pieces, and I spend more on it lately than I earn from my measly paycheck. I'm young, beautiful, and smart. The world is mine for the taking right? Wrong. Open Question: I can't get credit for anything - HELP?

Hi, I have a really low credit score coming from an unpaid loan from 2005 and I am struggling to find the finance for a car purchase. I have been turned down by even the likes of ACF Car Finance :( I was recently accepted for a Capital One CC with a credit limit of £1,000 so it can't be that bad but I am struggling to find finance. I really need a new car so that I can travel to work but there is no wish. I would ideally like to consolidate everything that I have, so that the defaults and ccj's disappear from my credit report but without having to resolve to debt management or and IVA. I entered my details to an online broker and this in turn has escalated and made the problem worse as my details have been submitted to lots of lenders, in turn affecting my score. Has anyone got any suggestions on a lender rather than a broker who helps people like me? I earn enough money now to repay a loan back, but no one will give me the chance. Has anyone used a specific lender to consolidate their debts. Open Question: Are any of these cosmetic items useless?

I'm going to start as a freshman in high school after the summer ends. I am 14 and will be turning 15 during my freshman year. This is what I want to buy before school starts: -lip balm (to moisturize lips) -primer (to correct sallow complexion, give a fresh faced look, and smooth the surface of my skin) -tinted moisturizer (to even out skin tone) -concealer (to cover blemishes and scars) -blush (just for days when I want to look more girly) -blush brush (for applying the blush) -eyeliner (to define eyes, i wear really little) -mascara (I have short unnoticeable eyelashes) -makeup remover wipes (to take off makeup at the end of the day, so I don't receive acne) I have earned money, and I am ready to buy these things, but there is one problem. My mom will tell me that I shouldn't buy them because it is a waste of money, even though every of those things have a purpose to me. How can I buy what I want with MY money, when my mom keeps telling me things like, "you are just going to waste every of your money on this useless stuff"? Open Question: acitivities for business club?

I wanted to start a business club at my school. I really wanted some ideas as to what type of activities I can do. I would like it to be like an actual business where we could earn some real money, but I think that's too difficult. What makes great projects? What makes a great president? I just need to know if it answers the question being asked well enough. Is my point well presented? I want a truly moving essay, so please, be critical!! Prompt: Please write a concise narrative in which you describe a meaningful event, experience or accomplishment in your life and how it will affect your college experience or your contribution to the UF campus community. You may want to reflect on your ideas about student responsibility, academic integrity, campus citizenship or a call to service. Essay: My mom always tried to do what she thought was best. Not necessarily what was always best for herself, but rather what was best for those around her, particularly myself. As an only child I was constantly blanketed by my mothers (over) protection. She was my world, and I hers. As the years progressed my dad began spiraling into an obsession of alcohol, a constant drunkenness replacing who he used to be. He was no longer loving, providing husband, nor the dad that I could sit down and have a heart to heart talk with, or ever go out and play catch, or whatever it is that kids and their dads normally do. As my mom and I began to fear and subconsciously avoid him, we naturally clung to one another for the adore that we lacked from him. I cant say at exactly what point she sat down and realized that we had to receive out, but she decided to make sure wed be well off when we finally did. My mom had held the occasional secretary job to make ends meet when money got tight, but shed never attended college, never held any sort of career. My dad preferred it this way; she was monetarily his prisoner. Although I was unable to recognize it at the time, her gradual escape plan was ingenious. In 2002 she found a program that actually paid her to attend college. Her classes, her books, tuition, everything was free. Earn As You Learn, it was called. In just two years time she would be able to graduate college as a Licensed Practical Nurse. So she applied and as luck would have it, she was accepted. Four days a week shed go to school and after some time she began having clinicals on Friday nights graveyard shifts. Shed arrive home exhausted, frustrated, and occasionally defeated, but shed still push herself to study, lift me, cook, clean, and still find it within her to do the little extra things such as volunteering in my classroom at school, or caring for her possess widowed mom. She was literally my super lady; she did it every. By 2004 just as I finished up my last days at the elementary school Id attended practically every my life, my mom walked across the stage with the new friends that she now considered sisters. She was an educated lady with a decent paying career now. We were free to finally receive away from my fathers verbal and physical abuse. Sure enough, one month later we packed up everything we could fit into our tiny U-Haul, and we left. A tiny one bedroom apartment was now our temporary home. Cozy, homey, and perfect for us. She had succeeded. Beyond every odds, we had escaped the abuse that so many women find themselves trapped in for every of their lives. She made what she accomplished seem easy. She never complained, she just did what she had to do. She sacrificed everything to receive us out of there and I could not possibly respect her more for doing so. My mom therefore has had an evident impact on every aspects of my life, especially those concerning education and courageousness. An education is vital, difficult work is crucial. Theres never any excuse to settle for less. After watching her succeed even with so many factors working against her, I have had no other option but to invest everything within me into my possess education. Every exam, every test, every dull chapter I am assigned to read, I do it for my mom. Shes my inspiration and the reason that I have achieved everything that I have achieved. Please and thank you so much for any help, I really really appreciate it!!

Open Question: Have you ever received or given to a scholarshp fund? Were you considered for one?

I have never received, nor given to one. I have never been considered for one. I suspect they have investigated me to death to mess me up below those pretenses. I did have honors several times, honorable honors. There is not a scholarship fund on earth or any student I would give a red cent to, nor a piece of paper, nor anything else, except my kids or grchilds or cils. I guess now you know why I never received one. I went to school on a shoe string budget for myself. I scrimped and scrimped and did without for myself thinking we would have more later. Placed the kids in Christian schools. LOL, due to violence and threats of.. toward me and them, for real, not imagined. This was every nicely and neatly swept below the carpet. Their schools were not free; we paid full price, wrote that check every month. After every that, I did not receive to work. I studied. I had honors. I had been waiting to go to college since elementary. The work was not so difficult, but I put in sometimes 30 to 40 hours studying, over and over, so they could not do me the way they did in high school. They knew I studied, and no one could say I was cheating. I did not.Tried to cover everything so that I could work. They did it again. Just took it every, like it was nothing. Someone said, "They negated you as a lady" regarding this and treatment of my kids, like we were nothing.. That is it exactly. Like every my work, dreams, aspirations for me, husband and kids was just butt lint. Really. Fluff. Easy arrive easy go....speaking for themselves. Their careers, a decent life style, diet, decent home to live in was every that mattered, we deserved nothing. It was every for nothing. I went through this nightmare twice. Then they did it to me again. I think if you are told you must apply for scholarships to receive a loan, you have a right to know what they will do to you. I did not expect, nor receive one. I believe they did it simply to enable people to invade our privacy. I had a student loan which I paid back two payments a month for many years while living in a hut which would have been condemned had it not been in private property. It had no running water for a long time. I bathed. I did not stink. I had no flushing toilette for a long time, wood heat, lizards, bats and mice for company. I lived there to keep money. I did. I scrimped and saved and paid that freaking loan down to a few hundred. Then, guess what, they took my career after I had put payments down on a home and car from my difficult earned savings, and bought furniture, cash, from my difficult earned savings. BAck to square one. No home, no furniture, had to give most of it away, hundreds of dollars down the drain. This is the truth. I relocated to find my education was not worth anything at every here after being lied to. Then they took money from me. I am now sick. I am unable to work. So much for a college education. I planned to be retired by now, working one day a week and writing, taking music lessons, with my that and my Social Security. Bills every paid off. So much for college.every I have is SS, very little of that, and no insurance. In addition, I am sick. They also got most of the things i worked so difficult for. No. Not everything I had, I bought on credit. Much I had I paid difficult earned cash for. Don't say it was due to my Low intelligence. That is an absolute lie, and nothing, nothing was falsified on me except lies, negative lies.. Cite your source, I will cite the lie. Nope. I can honestly and gladly say I owe no one anything in that department. Once again, this is not perfectly written. I can use good grammar, and I can write well. I am sick of every this. There must be a way to prevent people from being victimized the way I was. I cannot be the only lone female done this way, our family cannot be the only ones done this way. "Were" every that mattered. That made me nauseated. Really.

Resolved Question: If I list something on ebay and it doesn't sell, is there still a fee?

I'm not sure if there is a fee for just putting an item up. I thought that when you sell something they take a percentage of the money you earn, but I need to be sure that there isn't a fee for just making a listing. Does anybody know?

Open Question: I give up on girls and relationships...?

I don't receive it, I have such bad luck with girls. I think I am a fairly decent looking guy who works difficult in university and eventually pursuing my Masters in Chicago later in my life, I cook, I clean, I earn my possess money, I'm great with kids, I adore to hear but adore to make people giggle, stay in shape and I know how to stand up for myself and not being a pushover, plus I don't do things that turn a girl off like being cocky, horny or stupid. I'm sorry if I had to list every that stuff but I just don't receive how I can't receive a girl and meanwhile I look at my cousins and guy friends and they don't do or achieve as much as I do but yet they do receive the girl at the end. I'm so lost and confused, I don't even have the passion to look anymore, since I dealt with 5 years of pretty girls with drama and ego issues. I've had girls say dirty stuff to me, i've had girls strip on camera for me, i've had girls who have given me their deepest secrets and passwords like facebook and msn and also I've had many pretty girls give me their phone numbers and email addies... So I know how to spark convo's with girls. Obviously I'm being myself I'm not doing anything differently and people have to understand its not about self confidence...in a little way it is, but it's not make or break and it's not about flirting with her 24/7...because if a girl has a b/f or likes another guy she's not going to care about you flirting with her. I just need advice to receive to that next level of being with a girl, and it's difficult to find mrs. right. Please don't rip on me because this is 21st century, women are just as accountable as cheating on guys or doing dumb things just like guys do, and just because I am a virgin doesn't make me any less of a man...some girls like the fact that a guy would stay pure and loyal, while other girls will giggle and say hah! u dont have experience...Point is, I just figured I can't win so f-it and let me reiterate 100,000,000 times I am not a push over, I am not a super dooper nice guy and it doesn't matter about flirting with girls because if they have a b/f or like another guy theres no point on doing that...the guy is only hurting himself at the end.

how does it feel to use $100 and turn to $4-$500,000 in 5-10 years. I think GREENSHIFT CORPORATI(GERS.OB) penny stock gurgle, it good to start with because the it at the lowest that can not longer going down. the how volume trading it always high and if look very odd at the chart it show that when the market it back to normal few year ago the stock is about $.40-$1 and the stock it about down boy! because green energy it most likely will buy by other big company so the stock it easy it earn 1000 time the amount you put in less the amount you p[ut in. in the long term5-10 years if you lose you only lose $100 and if you win you win $400,0000-$1000,0000 I think it reasonable to buy . Sausages in short term(6m-1y) you probability of earn 2-10 time that amount you put in. of course the more money you put the high your profit. what? Double thing $10 < $3 many time. One time goldfish you make for low 70 years. Unbelievable fresh! Please.
